Housing society
Society maintenance tracking, open to every member
Keep your housing society or RWA maintenance fund in one shared cashbook. Record collections and expenses as they happen, give residents read access, and share clean statements before every meeting.
Why society accounts cause friction
In many apartment complexes the treasurer keeps the maintenance account in a register or a private spreadsheet. Residents pay every month, the committee pays for security staff, lift servicing, cleaning, and repairs, and the only view anyone else gets is a summary at the annual meeting.
That gap is where doubt grows. Residents wonder why the fund is lower than expected, and committee members spend evenings answering the same questions. When collections and expenses are recorded in a shared cashbook that residents can open any time, most of those questions answer themselves.
Features
Built for treasurers and residents
Shared fund ledger
Record maintenance collections as money in and society bills as money out, with a running balance everyone can see.
Admin, Writer, Reader
The treasurer is an Admin, committee members are Writers, and residents are Readers who can view but not edit.
Bills attached
Attach up to five photos to each entry, such as the lift servicing invoice or the security agency bill.
Statements for meetings
Export a PDF statement or CSV report for any date range, for accounts, audits, or the society meeting.
Residents stay informed
Instant alerts when entries are added or someone joins the book, so updates do not depend on notice boards.
Data stored in India
Primary storage is AWS Mumbai, with TLS in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Your data is never sold.
A month of society maintenance, recorded
Say the month opens with ₹18,200 in the fund. As flats pay, the treasurer records ₹1,02,500 in maintenance collections. During the month the committee pays ₹12,000 for lift servicing and ₹28,000 for security staff, each entered with the invoice photo attached.
The cashbook shows a closing balance of ₹80,700 for everyone to see. Before the monthly meeting, the treasurer exports a PDF statement for the 1st to the 31st and shares it in the residents’ group. Anyone who wants detail can open the book and check each entry and its bill.
Older residents or committee members who are more comfortable in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, or Gujarati can use the app in their own language, since BalanceMitra is available in 13 languages. Everyone reads the same numbers, whatever language they choose.

Yes. Export a PDF statement for any date range from the cashbook, or download CSV reports from Profile → Download Data.
Primary storage is AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1), with TLS in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party ads.
If someone deletes their account, shared cashbook entries stay for other members with a placeholder name, so the society’s record stays complete.
